Wild North & Mount Kenya Expedition
Begin your adventure with a wildlife-filled safari in Samburu, followed by an authentic Samburu cultural visit featuring a traditional goat-eating experience – Kijiji shopping with local food stuffs will be provided for the village visit. Continue to a 5-night Mount Kenya climb, taking in stunning mountain scenery before unwinding with a final night in Ol Pejeta Conservancy. Conclude your journey with a comfortable drive back to Nairobi. Important to note is that the Mount Kenya climb is based on VIP provisions such as each guest will have their own walk in 6-man tent unless they are sharing as a couple. The tents are furnished with a camp cot so that guests are raised from the ground to negate the usual burden of crawling in and out of a sleeping bag on the ground. The camp cot is then loaded with a 3” mattress, Maasai blanket, -18°C rated sleeping bag and luxurious fury liner to ensure clients are as comfortable as possible. For clients with enduring injuries or require just prefer to be as comfortable as possible while trekking, this is the specification to choose.

Morning and afternoon game drives take you into the semi-desert thorn bush bordering the Uaso Nyiro River. One of the reasons for coming to this area is to find and photograph wildlife, which is characteristic of the “Horn of Africa” and not found far south of the semi-arid Samburu region. Grevy’s Zebra, Somali Ostrich, Beisa Oryx, Gerenuk, Olive Baboon, Gunther’s Dik-dik and Reticulated Giraffe thrive in this harsh but picturesque landscape. Fan-tailed Raven, Black-faced Sandgrouse, Blue-naped Mousebird and Vulturine Guinea fowl are just a few of the many unique birds found here.
Later in the day at about 1530 hrs we have included a traditional goat roasting ceremony with the local Samburus. Selected beverages will be provided as well as shopping worth USD.150.00 purchased on your behalf to gift the community. There will be no afternoon game drive on this day.
