Her photo assignments have covered a range of human and wildlife stories from clever rats in Tanzania to a conservation battle amid insurgent war in the Congo.
Her film production work includes seven years of coordination of BBC and other international film and TV teams, locating their subjects and connecting them to hundreds of African stories and species. David Douglas’s camera work has contributed to over 50 giant screen documentaries from the deep ocean to Earth orbit, working on every continent with an evolving team of like-minded, specialists. Covering earth science in these decades has meant working for NASA, the Smithsonian Institution, National Wildlife Federation, IMAX and Warner Brothers and teaming up with Sir David Attenborough, Christopher Parsons, Morgan Freeman, and Graeme Ferguson amongst others.
Douglas traveled around the world capturing earth action sequences to correspond with the space views of astronauts shooting down from the space shuttle for the IMAX classic, Blue Planet. His efforts have tracked grey whale migrations down the Pacific coast to the calving grounds in Baja, Bald eagle gatherings in Alaska, the first humpback whale song recording in the waters off Maui, and the wild ocean tapestry of the sardine run along the wild coast of South Africa.
